THE GENDER

Just about to finish reading a book by Khaled Hosseini - "A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS". As the review wrote - it is truly a gripping tale, a powerful portrait of female (Mariam & Laila) suffering and endurance under the Taliban rule. The most heartbreaking is when Laila has to gave birth (operated) without anaesthetic because the ruler of the day did not provides it in a Women Hospital.

How lucky we are living in the other side of the globe.

“no country can afford to allow half of its population to sit idle doing nothing ... we found out in Malaysia that our women were more productive than men in some cases.”
